If your RS-422 application requires you to attach two
pairs of bare wires to a Converter model whose RS-422
connector is an internal terminal block, you will need to
open the Converter’s case, connect the wires to the
block, and fasten a strain-relief collar in place so that the
wires won’t pull loose. Take these steps:
1. Open the unit by gently inserting a screwdriver
between the DB25 or DB9 connector and the lip
of the plastic case, as shown below and at the top
of the next page. You don’t have to worry about
breaking the plastic, but be careful not to bend
the connector. Once you’ve opened the unit, you
should be able to see the terminal block located at
the near end of the Converter’s printed circuit
board.
