assembly.

Place the guard (11) onto the tool as shown.
Firmly press the guard until it snaps into place.
Secure the guard with the screw (15).
Warning!
Never use the tool unless the guard is properly fitted.
Releasing the cutting line
In transit, the cutting line is taped to the spool housing.
Remove the tape holding the cutting line (12) to the spool
housing (13).
Use
Warning!
Let the tool work at its own pace. Do not overload.
Charging the battery (fig. B)
The battery needs to be charged before first use and
whenever it fails to produce sufficient power on jobs that were
easily done before. When charging the battery for the first
time, or after prolonged storage, it will only accept an 80%
charge. After several charge and discharge cycles, the battery
will attain full capacity. The battery may become warm while
charging; this is normal and does not indicate a problem.
Warning!
Do not charge the battery at ambient temperatures
below 4 °C or above 40 °C. Recommended charging
temperature: approx. 24 °C.
Insert the charger plug (16) into the charger connector
(17) at the rear of the tool.
Plug the charger into a mains outlet. Switch on at the mains.
While the battery is connected to the charger, the red indicator
light (4) on the charger will be lit.
The battery can be left connected to the charger indefinitely.
When you want to use the tool, take the charger connector
from the tool and unplug the charger.
To maximise the lifetime of the battery, it is recommended to
keep the battery connected to the charger whenever the tool
is not in use. When the battery is full, the power consumption
of the charger is negligible.
Setting the tool to trimming or edging mode
(fig. C - E)
The tool can be used in trimming mode as shown in fig. C or
in edging mode to trim overhanging grass along lawn edges
and flower beds as shown in fig. D.
