Attaching the Water Tank (Fig. C)

1.  Install the water tank

 to the steam mop body 

ensuring the water tank is securely in place.

Attaching the Cleaning Pad (Fig. A, D)

Replacement cleaning pads, SMP20, are available from 
your BLACK+DECKER dealer. Replacement cleaning pads 
for Lift+Reach™ head are SMP30

1.  Place cleaning pad 

 7 

 on the floor with the “loop” side 

facing up.

2.  Lightly press steam mop or Lift+Reach™ head down 

onto the cleaning pad. You are now ready to steam 
clean and sanitize your floor. 

NOTICE:

 Do not store with a wet pad as this can 

damage your floor. Always place the steam mop with 
the handle

 in the upright position when stationary 

and make sure the steam mop is turned off when not 
in use.

Removing a Cleaning Pad

 

WARNING:

 Always wear suitable shoes when 

changing the cleaning pad on your steam mop. Do 
not wear slippers or open toed footwear.

1.  Return the handle 

 4 

 to the upright position and turn 

the steam mop OFF’

2.  Wait until the steam mop cools down (approximately 

5 minutes).

3.  Lift the steam mop away from the cleaning pad freeing 

it from the velcro fastening.

 

WARNING:

 Always place your steam mop with the 

handle 

 4 

 supported in the upright position when 

stationary and make sure the steam mop is turned off 
when not in use.

Filling Water Tank (Fig. E)

 

WARNING:

 Do not over fill the tank. 

nOTE:

 Do not use chemical cleaners with your steam mop 

water tank.

nOTE:

 Fill the water tank with clean tap water.

nOTE:

 In areas of hard water, the use of distilled water 

is recommended.

nOTE:

 Ensure the filler cap is firmly secured. 

nOTE:

 Always empty the water tank after use.

1.  Make sure the steam mop is turned OFF and unplugged.
2.  Remove water tank from the steam mop body.
3.  Open the water tank filler cap

4.  Fill the water tank

 with water.

5.  Replace the  water tank filler cap

nOTE: 

Ensure the  water tank filler cap 

 13 

 is 

firmly secured.

 

WARNING:

 Your water tank has a 380  ml capacity. 

Do not over fill the tank.

OPERATION

 

CAUTION:

 Never use the steam mop without first 

attaching a cleaning pad.

iMPORTAnT:

 This unit will kill 99.9% of germs when used in 

accordance with the instructions in this manual and with the 
micro-fiber pad fitted and a continuous run time of 90 seconds.

NOTICE:

  Do not use on any unsealed hard floor 

surfaces. Additionally, on surfaces that have been 
treated with wax or some no wax floors, the sheen 
may be removed by the heat and steam action. It 
is always recommended to test an isolated area of 
the surface to be cleaned before proceeding. We 
also recommend that you check the use and care 
instructions from the floor manufacturer.

NOTICE:

 

 

Never leave the steam mop in one spot on 

any surface for any period of time. Do not store with a 
wet pad as this can damage your floor. Always place 
the steam mop with the handle tube

Switching On and Off (Fig. A)

nOTE:

 It takes approximately 30 seconds for the steam mop 

to heat up.

1.  To switch the appliance ON, press the On/Off button

2.  Press the steam operation button

. This will operate 

the pump and the unit will begin to produce steam.

3.  To stop steam generation, press steam operation 

button

 a second time. This will maintain power to 

the boiler for quicker start up.

4.  To switch the appliance OFF, press the On/Off button

NOTICE:

This Steam Mop incorporates a built in Lift+Reach™ head 
which enables you to access tight corners and narrow gaps.

 

CAUTION:

 Always wear suitable shoes when 

accessing the Lift+Reach head on your steam mop. 
Do not wear slippers or open-toed footwear.

To Access the Lift+Reach Head

1.  Return the handle to the upright position and turn the 

steam mop OFF.

2.  Wait until it cools down (approximately five minutes).

Place the front of your shoe onto the steam head 
removal tab

 and press down gently.

3.  Lift the Lift+Reach™ head up off the steam head

4.  Place the Lift+Reach™ head cleaning pad

 on the floor 

with the hook and loop side facing up.

5.  Press the Lift+Reach™ head down onto the cleaning
