Autosense

TM

 technology

In screwdrive mode, this tool is equipped with Autosense

TM

technology that helps drive screws accurately and without

effort.

u

Select Screwdrive mode & ensure the forward/reverse (2)

is pushed to the left.

u

Pull the trigger switch (1) to drive a screw into the work-

piece and the tool will automatically stop when the screw

is flush to the workpiece.

u

If a deeper screw is desired, continue to hold the trigger

switch. After a moment the drill will begin to rotate, to

drive the screw to the desired depth at a more controllable

pace.

u

Once the desired depth is reached, release the trigger

switch.

Note: If the screw stops half way, release the trigger

switch (1) then press the trigger switch (1) to start again.

State of charge indicator (fig. D)

The tool is fitted with a state of charge indicator. This can be

used to display the current level of charge in the battery during

use.

u

Press either the drill mode selector button (3) or the

screwdriver mode selector button (4) to display the current

state of charging.

LED work light

The LED work light (8) is activated automatically when the trig-

ger is depressed. The LED work light will illuminate when the

trigger is partially depressed, before the unit begins running.

Hints for optimum use

Drilling

u

Always apply a light pressure in a straight line with the drill

bit.

u

Just before the drill tip breaks through the other side of the

workpiece, decrease pressure on the tool.

u

Use a block of wood to back up workpieces that may

splinter.

u

Use spade bits when drilling large diameter holes in wood.

u

Use HSS drill bits when drilling in metal.

u

Use a lubricant when drilling metals other than cast iron

and brass.

u

Make an indentation using a centre punch at the centre of

the hole to be drilled in order to improve accuracy.

Screwdriving

u

Always use the correct type and size of screwdriver bit.

u

If screws are difficult to tighten, try applying a small

amount of washing liquid or soap as a lubricant.

u

Always hold the tool and screwdriver bit in a straight line

with the screw.
