Oil injection conversion kit for explosion-proof
areas
• Oil flow control system OFC
• Oil flow switch (see chapter Mounting, page 20,
"Simple electrical equipment")
• ATEX-proof oil solenoid valve, ATEX designation
(Ex) II 2G Ex mb IIC T4 Gb X (difference to oil injec-
tion standard kit). Technical details can be found on
the name plate of the coil and in the “explosion pro-
tection” operating instructions as well as in the de-
claration of conformity of the coil manufacturer.
Electrical connection of the components (see chapter
Schematic wiring diagrams OS.(A)74.-EX, page 26).
Oil flow control system OFC
• Mount the OFC and the section switch amplifier out-
side the explosion-proof area.
• Connect the oil flow switch with the section switch
amplifier to the OFC.
DANGER
Risk of explosion due to an incorrectly mounted
monitoring device for oil flow control system
(OFC)!
Mount the monitoring device for oil flow control
system (OFC) and the section switch amplifier
exclusively outside the potentially explosive
area!
DANGER
Risk of explosion due to an incorrectly connec-
ted oil flow switch!
Only use an oil flow switch which is suitable for
the use in a potentially explosive atmosphere
and connect it together with the section switch
amplifier!
4.5
Shaft seal
The compressors OS.(A)74-EX are equipped with a
special shaft seal. An internal oil barrier keeps sur-
rounding air and thus explosive atmosphere away from
the sliding face of the shaft seal. The oil barrier is sup-
plied with oil from an open reservoir.
DANGER
Risk of explosion due to wear of the shaft seal!
Use exclusively a shaft seal which is approved
and authorised for the use in explosive atmo-
spheres!
• Attach the hoses (Ø 6 mm) to the connections 1 and
Reservoir for oil barrier
The reservoir (see figure 2, page 22, Pos. 3) should
have a capacity of approx. 2 litres and should not be
sealed to the outside.
• Mount the reservoir at least 30 cm above the con-
nection 2. Connect the hoses.
To ensure a permanent oil barrier for the shaft seal, the
filling level of the reservoir must be monitored by an oil
level switch (see chapter Mounting, page 20, "Basic
electrical equipment"). Note: Reservoir, oil level switch
and connecting pipe are not included in extent of deliv-
ery.
• Connect the oil level switch in accordance with the
schematic wiring diagrams, see chapter Schematic
wiring diagrams OS.(A)74.-EX, page 26.
DANGER
Risk of explosion due to an incorrectly connec-
ted oil level switch and lack of oil!
Only use an oil level switch which is suitable for
the use in a potentially explosive atmosphere
and connect it together with the section switch
amplifier!
