3.1
Additional name plate
The specific compressor design for the use in the
zones 1 and 2 according to the ATEX marking Ex II 2G
Ex h IIC T4 Gb X is marked by the addition “EX” to the
compressor name.
3.2
Defining the zone
Before installing, the zone of the potentially explosive
area must be defined by the end user and indicated in
the explosion protection document. The suitability of
the defined zone must be assessed.

Mounting
The system components must connected according to
the schematic wiring diagrams indicated in the Operat-
ing Instructions (see chapter Schematic wiring dia-
grams OS.(A)74.-EX, page 26).
Observe the manufacturer’s documentation of the com-
ponents used!
Additional components (e.g. distributor) must comply
with the requirements of the ATEX directive (e.g. EU
type examination certificate). If components are com-
bined (e.g. motor and compressor), the components’
conditions of use must be observed. Only when they
are complied with, it can be assumed that no new igni-
tion sources are generated and that the conformity of
the products with the directives can be guaranteed.
Simple electrical equipment (EEB)
These components do not need an EU type examina-
tion certificate but they must be protected in a safe area
by connecting an ATEX-certified power limitation (sec-
tion switch amplifier). These intrinsically safe circuits
must be specially marked (blue cable) and the wiring is
subject to special requirements. The end user must
give evidence of the fulfilment of the intrinsic safety (U,
I, L, C) (see EN 60079-14).

DANGER
Risk of explosion due to the entry of foreign gas!
When the system is operated outside the ad-
missible application limits, with an insufficient oil
cooling, and/or in the vacuum range, foreign gas
may enter the system.
Do not operate the system in the vacuum range,
only use it within the admissible application lim-
its and protect it by means of suitable safety
devices!
Use sufficiently dimensioned heat exchangers!
DANGER
Risk of explosion due to bursting of the pressure
relief valve!
When the outlet of the pressure relief valve is
closed, the pressure rises quickly.
Install and set a high pressure limiter (HP) and a
discharge gas temperature sensor!
