expansion port output on the back of the MCU
base control unit. With this option installed, a total
of 32 system receivers can be connected, with the
system gain remaining constant for all receivers.
Cables are provided for connecting the expansion
deck to the base control unit. It is recommended
that the multicoupler expansion deck be mounted
in the same rack just beneath the base control unit.
The optional 16 to 32 channel multicoupler expan-
sion deck will require 1 “rack unit” of space.
ATTENTION:
To ensure optimum
performance of your TTA system we
recommend that all unused RF out-
puts on all 16-way dividers must be
terminated with a 50 ohm load. Labo-
ratory quality loads are not neces-
sary; any load with a 20 dB (1.3:1
VSWR) or greater return loss will
work. Bird Technologies Group has
an inexpensive 50 Ohm load for this
purpose, part number 83-01-05.
16 TO 48 CHANNEL EXPANSION
The 16 to 48 channel optional expansion (part# 75-
83H-428B-32) is shown in
Figure 33
and includes
two 16-way dividers that are stacked and mounted
on a 19 inch deck. A 2-way divider is added to the
expansion deck in order to distribute the RF output
of the amplifier assembly to both the expansion
deck and control deck. With this option installed, a
total of 48 system receivers can be connected, with
the system gain remaining constant for all receiv-
ers. Cables are provided for connecting the expan-
