P. 8
Please follow the particular order given below to avoid any kind of strain or premature ageing
of the YAKKAir.
1. Defl ate the fl oor and remove it from the boat.
2. Defl ate the keel and leave it in place.
3. Defl ate the two main bladders by unscrewing the two valves simultaneously. Avoid pushing
the valves downward into the Dacron envelope. To defl ate the YAKKAir use the pump in
defl ate mode and change the nozzle round.
4. Put your defl ated boat on its side, the stern reinforcements fl at.
5. Fold three times from front to rear, and do two folds from rear to front.
Tip : Avoid folding where the valves are located as this could damage them as well as pinch
the inner bladders.
6. Put the folded boat into the storage bag without the fl oor.
7. Slide the fl oor into the bag.
Tips : Do not press your boat too much down into the bag. Put back the plugs to protect the
valves when the kayak is stored.
Maintenance
The YAKKAir is made of material and thus requires a minimum amount of care to avoid getting
damaged over the years.
After each outing
: Sand being very corrosive, avoid putting your boat away with stand still in it.
Fold your kayak on a grassy area. Rinse with fresh water and let dry before storing it in its bag.
Before a long period of storage
: Rinse your kayak with fresh water and wash away any salt and
sand. Wipe clean and dry thoroughly before storing in its bag, to avoid any mould developing
later during storage. This could cause premature damage to the YAKKAir.
