Function Hotkeys
The Fn key located at the lower left corner of the keyboard is used with another key to perform the alternative function of a key. The letter "Fn" and the alternative functions
are identified by the color of blue on the keytop. To perform a desired function, first press and hold Fn, then press the other key. For example, to decrease speaker volume,
press and hold the Fn key, and then press the F3 key.
Depending on the area where your Joybook is purchased, the keyboard may be different from that shown in this section.
Fn + F1 Switches the wireless network radio on
and off. Upon booting the Joybook,
default setting is off.
Fn + F6 Decreases screen brightness.
Fn +
NumLk
Activates or deactivates the numeric keypad
integrated in the keyboard (indicated by the
light gray shade in the illustration above).
Fn + F3 Decreases speaker volume.
Fn + F7 Increases screen brightness.
Fn + F4 Increases speaker volume.
Fn + F10 Switches Battery Low beep on or off.
Fn + ScrLk Activates or deactivates the scroll lock func-
tion. When activated, the screen moves one
line up or down when you press the up or
down arrow key (

i
).
Scroll Lock does not work in all pro-
grams.
Fn + F5 Switches display between the screen and
an external monitor, or allows simultaneous
display.
If the display mode is set to 256 colors
or lower, or in DOS mode, there will be
only two modes available: CRT only
and LCD & CRT.
Fn + F11 Switches the screen on or off.
Fn + F12 Serves as the standby or hibernate button
that you can define with Windows' Power
Management. (refer to "Setting up Fn+F12
Key Function" on page 11 for details)
