Preventing unintended erasure of a DVD+RW Disc
To prevent a recording from being accidentally erased, you can set the DVD Recorder to
protect the entire disc from further recording. This is useful as it can be undone at a later time
for further recording, (which cannot be done if a disc has been finalized). See "Finalizing a
DVD+R Disc" on page 82 for details of finalizing discs.
1. Load the disc you want to protect into the DVD
Recorder.
1. Press the
Play list/menu
button on the remote
control to display the disc content menu.
2. Press the
Up
button to highlight the first
title in the disc content menu.
3. Press the
Up
button again. The Disc
information menu will display on-screen.
4. Press the
Right
button to enter the Disc setting
menu.
5. Press the
Up
or
Down
button to
select ’
Protected
’, and the press the
OK
button.
The ’
Protected
’ checkbox will be checked.
How to unprotect a disc:
When you wish to record onto the disc again,
repeat the above steps and make sure that the
’
Protected
’ checkbox becomes unchecked.
