5.18.1 Scope
This section describes the front DS3 ATM Network Access (DNA)
module. It explains the module functions, LED indicators, and connector
interfaces.

5.18.2
Functional Description
The DNA supports eight channels of ATM over DS-3. It does not support
channelized DS3 networks. The DNA module requires a rear module for
physical interface terminations. This is the same rear module used for
Octal DS3/STS-1 modules. The associated rear module has two (2) BNC
connectors, transmit and receive, per DS-3 totaling sixteen connectors.
The rear protection module is the same as the Octal DS-3 protection
module and does not have any connectors.
