End of the game
The game ends when it is no longer possible to place a fish on the game board. The winner is the
player who has collected fewest minus points (open faced fish).
Get rid of fish (age: 4+)
The game board is placed in the middle and the orange fish is placed in the middle of the board.
Each player receives 7 fish - the remaining fish are turned upside down and placed around the
game board. The goal is now to place one fish each in turn and to place your fish on the game
board (here too the fish must touch each other at more than one point). If it‘s a player‘s turn and
he can‘t lay down a fish, he has to draw a fish. The game ends when a player has placed all his
fish in the coral reef.
Fish domino (age: 3+)
The game board is set aside and each player receives 7 fish. The rest of the fish are shuffled and
laid out upside down. One fish is drawn and placed in the middle to start. The youngest player
starts and places a colour-matched fish from his 7 fish - whereby a tail fin is always placed on the
following head of the fish (or the other way round) so that no gaps are left. If a player does not
have a matching fish, he must draw a fish. Then it is the turn of the next player. The winner is the
player who has successfully placed all his fish.
Tips for Educators
Create colourful fish (age: 4+)
Paint the outer shape of a fish on A4 paper (or have the child paint the shape on his
own). Each child then cuts the fish‘s silhouette and designs it as he or she wants. Provide
enough materials (scissors, glue, crepe paper, glitter paper, googly eyes, foam rubber,
coloured pencils, etc.).
Invent a story (age: 5+)
„A small fish explores the sea“: take this title as an opportunity to think up an exciting
adventure for a small fish together with the children. Get pictures to talk with the child-
ren about corals, other sea creatures and sunken ships.
Tips for parents
Visit an aquarium with your child and admire the variety of fish. During your visit, talk to your
child about the similarities and differences of the fish. How big are the different fish? Do the fish
prefer to hide or do they show their full magnificence directly? Which animals still live in the
water?
