Beghelli Salvalavita is a rechargeable lamp that emits an
acoustic and luminous alarm signal to indicate the pre-
sence of gas in the surrounding environment before
explosion conditions occur.
Beghelli Salvalavita is available in two versions: one spe-
cifically designed for indicating the presence of METHA-
NE gas and the other for indicating the presence of LPG
gas (liquid gas).
REPLACING THE BULB
WARNINGS
- Remove the appliance from its packing and make sure it has not
been damaged. In case of doubt apply to qualified personnel.
- Before connecting this appliance check that the rating plate data
correspond to the mains data.
- Do not use this appliance for anything other than intended use
and connect it according to the instructions supplied. Any other
use is to be considered as improper, and may cause damage.
The manufacturer will not be liable for any damages to human
beings, animals or properties caused by improper, wrong or
unreasonable use.
- When using electric appliances general safety rules should be
complied with, and namely:
- Before any cleaning or maintenance operation, disconnect the
appliance from the mains.
- In case of failure, should any repairs be necessary, contact a ser-
vice centre authorised by the manufacturer and always request
original spare parts. Failure to comply with the above may under-
mine the safety of the appliance.
- In the event of damage to the cable, contact a Beghelli authorised
Service Centre for replacement.
- The installation of a gas detector does not exempt the user from
the observation of all regulations governing the characteristics,
installation and use of gas appliances, the ventilation of interiors
or the discharge of substances produced from combustion descri-
bed in UNI Standards currently in force under art. 3 of law
1083/71 and current legislation.
WARRANTY
All BEGHELLI products are made using high quality materials that
have been subjected to stringent tests and are guaranteed free
from manufacturing defects according to the legislation in force.
This warranty will be invalidated in case installation has not been
performed according to the proper instructions; appliances have
been damaged, modified or repaired by non authorised personnel.
Any defective appliance should be sent back to a BEGHELLI
Authorised Service Centre, carriage free.

PROCEDURE FOLLOWING AN ALARM SIGNAL
- Open all windows immediately in order to air the room(s).
- Extinguish all naked flames (including cigarettes).
- Do not switch electrical appliances of any kind on or off and
do not press switches.
- Close the main tap on the methane system or the tap on the gas
cylinder and ensure that all gas appliances are switched off.
- If the alarm stops, the cause of the leak should be identified
and suitable action should be taken to remedy the situation.
- If the alarm does not cease and it is not possible to identify
the cause of the gas leak, leave the building and once outsi-
de notify the emergency services.
IMPORTANT
- Do not use Beghelli Salvalavita as an instrument for investi-
gating system failure.
- Do not disconnect the appliance from the mains supply when
the alarm is active.
MAINTENANCE
Periodically use a soft brush to remove any dust or dirt that has
accumulated on the appliance’s lateral slits (see Fig. 7).
This appliance is equipped with rechargeable batteries, which, if
properly preserved, have a long service life. It is recommended to
replace them every 4 years in order to maintain the product perfor-
mance level. Battery replacement should be performed by qualified
personnel.
Should the bulb need replacing, operate on the lamp as shown in
Fig. 8.
N.B.: Before any cleaning or maintenance operation, disconnect
the appliance from the mains.
