Descaling
Limescale deposits have an adverse effect not only on the quality of the coffee and the water,
but they also cause power losses and shorten the lifespan of the device. The thicker a limescale
layer is, the more dif
fi
cult it is to remove.
We therefore recommend regularly removing limescale deposits with a descaling agent in
accordance with the water quality in your area and how often the device is used (approx. every
2 – 6 weeks).
The
fi
rst indications that descaling is required are a large amount of steam being produced and
slower brewing of the coffee.
The device also has a descaling reminder function. After 30 brewing processes, in addition to
the selected brewing option the
REINIGUNG
(cleaning) symbol appears in the display. After
the descaling process has been carried out, the
REINIGUNG
(cleaning) symbol goes out.

Descaling with the BEEM Premium Descaler Concentrate
1. Press
the
BRÜH-OPTIONEN
(brewing options) (

displayed.
2. Fill the water tank (

) up to the 10-cup marking with a concentrate/water solution of no
more than 1:20 (one part concentrate to 20 parts water).
3. Place the thermal jug (

) under the coffee outlet.
4. Press

) button to start the descaling process. The operating lamp in the

button lights up.
The descaling process takes approx. 40 minutes. Please note that the descaling process
includes a 30-minute application time.
5. When the descaling process is complete, empty the thermal jug and allow the unit to cool
down.
6. Keep pressing the
BRÜH-OPTIONEN
(brewing options) button until
REGULÄR
(regu-
lar) appears in the display.
7. To rinse the device, allow two tankfuls (10 cups) of fresh water to run through it.
8. Clean all accessories thoroughly (see the “Cleaning and Care” chapter). The device is now
descaled and ready to be used again.
9. Remove the mains plug from the plug socket. This resets the countdown for the descaling
reminder.
