Markings in the Milk Container
The milk container ( 5 ) has three different markings ( Picture A) :
MAX Maximum fi ll level for heating without frothing (approx. 300 ml)
MAX Maximum fi ll level for frothing (approx. 150 ml)
MIN Minimum fi ll level (approx. 70 ml)
Fill the milk container to the appropriate level depending on the use.
Preparation
NOTE
• Do not fi ll the milk container if it is positioned in the base station! Remove the milk
container from the base station to fi ll it.
• Fill the milk container at least up to the MIN marking. Never use it without milk or
with less milk than this! This could damage the heating elements.
• Never use the milk container without the lid. Hot milk could spray out during
frothing and heating.
When the device is fi rst used, production-related additives (e. g. grease) may cause
a small amount of smoke and / or an odour to be produced. This is normal and not
a device defect.
1. Remove the lid ( 6 ) from the milk container ( 5 ).
2. Use the stirring insert ( 7 ) or whisking insert ( 8 ) depending on the use (see the “Prepa-
ration and Operation” chapter | “Use”). Place the corresponding insert on the mount
(
Picture B ) on the bottom of the milk container and press it down fi rmly.
3. Fill the milk container with the appropriate amount of milk depending on the required
use. When you do this, note the maximum fi ll levels (see the “Preparation and Opera-
tion” chapter | “Markings in the Milk Container”).
4. Place the lid on the milk container and press it down.
5. Connect the base station ( 3 ) to a properly installed plug socket.
6. Place the milk container on the base station.
7. Press the appropriate programme button depending on the use you want (see the
“Preparation and Operation” chapter | “Use”). The control lamp in the programme
button that has been pressed starts to light up and the programme starts. The device
switches off automatically at the end of the programme and the control lamp goes out.
