Accessing the Rotor in Case of Power Failure

WARNING
The following procedure may expose the operator to the possibility of contact with
a spinning rotor. Turn the power off (
O
) and disconnect the centrifuge from the
main power source before proceeding. Never attempt to override the door
interlock system while the rotor is spinning.

Turn the power switch to off (
O
) and unplug the power cord from the power source.
•
The display is inactive.

Make sure that the rotor is not spinning.
•
No sound or vibration comes from the centrifuge.

Tilt the centrifuge to its side and locate the label
Emergency Door Release “Open”

Insert the tool (B08091) into the hole and turn it clockwise to release the latch mechanism until
the door can be opened.
