Connecting and releasing the optical fiber cable at the junction
Attention
Risk of damage to the cable!
To disconnect the optical fiber cable always pull the connector to release the locking mech-
anism - never pull the optical fiber cable itself.
Note
Crossover cables
Not that crossover cables may have to be used for connecting the EK1521, EK1521-0010
with the EK1501/ EK1501-0010.
Practical tip:
The infrared light emission can be made visible via a digital or smartphone camera at the
junction or at the coupler (see figure). Avoid 'light meeting light' when connecting the optical
fiber cable (Tx → Tx). In this case no connection can be established, and crossover cables
must be used (Tx → Rx).
