NSTALLATION
This document provides sufficient information to enable the user to carry out initial
installation of the Marlin.

NPACKING

NFORMATION
Upon receipt of the Marlin, please check that the inventory is complete and that all
components are in good condition.
1.
The Marlin unit.
2.
Installation Guide (this document).
3.
2-metre IEC mains cable fused with a 5A fuse.
4.
Manager cable.
5.
1 x 9 way and 1 x 25 way RJ45 to ‘D’ type converter
6.
Cable assembly for connecting to digital leased service. Type V.11 = CAB-
MWAN-V11 or Type V.24 = CAB-MWAN-V24 or Type V.35 = CAB-
MWAN-V35.
If any of these components are missing, please refer to the supplier.
It may be useful to save the packaging in which the unit was delivered. This will help
to protect the unit should it be required to move it in the future to a different location.

EQUIREMENTS
Before commencing the installation process, ensure that the environment into which it
is being installed is appropriate.
Table 1 below defines the operating environment which the Marlin will operate within.
Local regulations may require additional conditions to be applied. You should refer to
your local regulatory body for details.
The Marlin can be located virtually anywhere that is convenient for connection to the
power supply, LAN and wide area networks as long as the environmental conditions
are met. To ensure that the maximum temperature limit is not reached there should be
an air gap around all sides and above the unit. Units should not be stacked more than
two high.
