INSTRUCTIONS FOR FITTERS
911.848.4 - en
2. GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
3. WARNINGS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
4. INSTALLATION
The fitter must be legally qualified to install heating appliances. Additionally, bear in mind the following:
• in case of external installation do not expose the storage boiler to atmospheric agents, such as wind, water and frost as
these could impair operation and safety.
The appliance should be installed in a cabinet sheltered from the weather.
• do not leave any packaging (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc.) within reach of children, as it is a potential source of danger.
• the boiler must be commissioned by an authorised Service Engineer, as indicated on the attached sheet.
Failure to observe the above will render the guarantee null and void.
The
SLIM INOX
storage boiler must be connected to a hot water distribution network and to the boiler circuit as described
in this manual and according to the instructions in the technical boiler manual for fitters.
Connections must be made by professionally qualified people.
IMPORTANT! Prior to installation, make sure that the storage boiler can be connected to the boiler.
After determining the exact location of the storage boiler, it must be installed bearing in mind the need for ease of main-
tenance. Position the storage boiler alongside (to the left or right) the boiler.
Make the hydraulic connections following the diagrams in figure 1.
A kit for connecting the storage boiler to the
SLIM
boiler is available on request.
Install a check valve on the DHW cold water inlet in order to drain the storage boiler.
Connect the safety valve to a drain trap.
For special areas, where the water is harder than 25°F (1 °F = 10mg calcium carbonate per litre of water), install a poly-
phosphate dispenser, compliant with current regulations, on the DHW circuit (cold water inlet).
N.B.
: If:
•
the pressure of the water supply or lifting system is such as to require the installation of a pressure reducer (pressure
higher than 4 bar);
•
a non-return valve is fitted to the water supply line
•
the cold water network is too small to allow the water in the storage boiler to expand;
•
the DHW circuit safety valve trips and causes the water to leak.
To eliminate this problem, install an expansion vessel on the DHW circuit. The recirculator connector D on the storage
boiler can be used for this purpose (see § 1).
