c) Handling a Work Piece
1. Securely clamp down workpieces to be treated or secure them in a suitable fashion to pre-
vent uncontrolled movements during the operation.
2.
Connect the device to one of the appropriate power sources listed in the technical specifications.
3. Switch the device on with the ON/OFF switch (“0”=OFF, “1”=ON), to begin working.
4.
Regulate the shaft speed with the control knob (“+”=faster, “-” =slower).
5.
When working with the flexible shaft, the drive assembly unit should be secured against
undesired movements.
6. During all tasks, observe the appropriate information contained in the section “Safety advisories”.
d) Tips and Hints
•
Work with a test piece first in order to gain a feel for the device and how to achieve the
best results.
• The geometry of the grinding wheels can be altered to meet particular needs by grinding the
running tool against the whetstone.
• If the coals of the device are used up, they can be changed. To do this, turn out the plastic
slot covers and insert new coals on both sides.
7. Care and Cleaning
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solu-
tions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Disconnect the product from the mains before each cleaning.
• The device is generally maintenance-free. Bearings are oiled for the normal lifecycle of the
device. They do not have to be oiled.
• Clean the device with a lightly moistened cloth. Keep the collet chucks and the tool attach-
ment slot on the shaft free of dust and grease. Blow these out with compressed air if neces-
sary. Ventilation slits should be kept dust-free in the same or similar manner.
