IMPORTANT NOTES
It is important to pause the data collection prior to stopping it. For example, if doing a
data collection of 10 snapshots, hit “s” to start the collection, then after 10 snapshots,
hit “s” again to pause the data collection, then hit ESC to stop data collection.

Data Capture and Data Parsing

Data collection using the gpsconsole setup.gc script will save all activity in a file called
“setup_yyyymmddHHMMSS.log” where yyyymmddHHMMSS is a date and time stamp
for when the script was started.

Use the Parse utility to extract data messages from the .log file. For example, type
“
Parse --filename setup_20190513225447.log
” to (i) extract each $GPZDA and $GPGGA
message that appear in the
setup_20190513225447.log file and write them into a single
“bti.pos” position file and (ii) extract each %ORS, %MS8, and %MS1 message appearing
in the setup_20190513225447.log and convert them into individual binary files.
