Topology

The Basalte Serial.link is able to control up to 192 Sentido or Auro devices distributed over 6
RS485 lines. Each line can contain up to maximum 32 devices and must be wired according a linear
bus topology without any branches.  This means that each line has exactly two endpoints: the
Basalte Serial.link and one Sentido keypad or Auro motion sensor.

On every last Sentido keypad

(endpoint), the

TER

switch should be placed in the ON position (termination enabled).

The bus cable to connect the keypads and motion sensors consists of four strands: two strands are
used for power and two strands are used for data (which need to be a shielded pair).  For example:
shielded twisted pair (STP).Lutron

®

bus cable is a suitable RS485 bus cables.

The Serial.link requires a power supply between 10 and 30V DC. A power supply of 24V DC is
recommended.
