6. Cleaning and maintenance
6.1 Safety advice
o
Before beginning with repair or cleaning works make sure the device has been disconnected
from power socket (pull the power plug!!!) and has cooled down.
o
Do not use any acid agents and make sure no water ingresses the device.
o
To protect yourself from electric shock, never immerse the device, its cables and the plug in
water or other liquids.
CAUTION!
The device is not suited for direct washing via water jets. Therefore, you must not use any
kind of pressure water jet for cleaning the device!
6.2 Cleaning and descaling
Daily cleaning
o
Clean the device after every use.
o
Clean the filter basket, submersion tube and lid with warm water and a mild cleaning agent
especially for coffee makers. Dry the elements with a soft cloth.
o
Clean the water reservoir of sediment and leftover coffee. A mild scouring agent and sponge for
pots may be used.
o
Wipe the outside of the coffee maker with a moist cloth, then dry.
o
To clean the spout, fill the coffee maker with warm water and open the spout to rinse it.
o
If the device is used for heating or boiling water take special care to clean thoroughly after each
use.
Weekly cleaning
o
If the device is used daily, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the spout mechanism once
weekly. If the device is used less often it does not need to be cleaned so often.
o
To clean the spout, unscrew the handle. Clean the spout and connecting pipe with a small brush.
Rinse the handle and replace.
o
The level indicator may be cleaned from the inside using the brush attached. First, remove the
upper lid of the indicator by squeezing it from the bottom and sliding up. Next, insert the brush
from the top and clean the indicator. Do not remove the indicator. After cleaning, replace lid.
Cleaning the heating grate
o
The coffee maker's heating grate must be cleaned weekly, especially when the device is used
daily.
o
A lime scraper is provided in the packing in order to clean the heating bore at the bottom of the
device.

Use the provided lime scraper!
