Projection Systems
Mounting the Ceiling Plate
What has to be
done
The ceiling Plate of the motorized ceiling support has to be fixed to the ceiling comply
with well defined rules for safety.
Necessary Tools
Depends on the used fixation material
Mounting the
Ceiling Plate
To attach the Ceiling Plate of the Ceiling support, follow the next procedure:
Step
Action
1-
Consult to the installation manual of the projector to determine the
Throwing
Distance (PD)
(distance Screen to front projector)
2-
For the positioning of the ceiling plate, with regard to the screen, calculate the
distance Front Ceiling plate-Screen, using drawing below:
Attention
: the formula PD=PD-11mm corresponds to a projector fixation in the
provided holes 1 (see drawing above). Fixation holes 2 & 3 allow to move the
projector respectively 5cm for- or backwards without changing the ceiling plate
position.
4. Place the ceiling plate onto the ceiling, perpendicular to the screen and the front
of the plate at the right distance of the screen, and mark the 6 fixation holes
WARNING: Consult a professional rigger and/or structural engineer prior
to suspending projectors from a structure not intended for that use.
Always know the working load limit of the structure supporting the
projector/suspension assembly.
5. In case of a concrete ceiling, drill 8 holes, allowing the insertion of 8 bolts which
guarantee a pull downward of at least 800kg (1765lbs).
6. Attach the ceiling plate to the ceiling.
