Chip. Many of the very low-cost USB cables use a counterfeit Prolific USB to serial chip that
have a number of driver problems. Even with non-counterfeit chips, it may be difficult to
properly transfer data between the radio and computer unless the radio computer
communications handshake occurs in the correct sequence. An unmodified copy of the
downloaded radio image should be saved before programing.
