TROUBLESHOOTING INSTRUCTIONS
ANOMALY
The burner locks out with the flame on (red
lamp on). The fault is in the flame control
device.
The burner goes into lock-out spraying liquid
fuel but the flame does not ignite (red light
on).
The burner goes into lock-out without
spraying fuel.
The burner does not start up.(The equipment
does not perform the start up program).
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1
Photoresistance severed or fouled
with smoke.
2
Insufficient draught.
3
Flame detector circuit interrupted in
the equipment.
4
Dirty deflector disk and diffuser.
1
Ignition circuit severed.
2
The ignition transformer cables are
discharging to ground.
3
The ignition transformer cables are
not well connected.
4
Ignition transformer is faulty.
5
The electrode faces are not at the
right distance.
6
Electrodes discharge to earth
because they are dirty or their
insulation is cracked: check also
the porcelain insulator terminals.
1
Pump pressure is not regular.
2
Water in the fuel.
3
Too much combustion air.
4
Air passage between deflector disk
and diffuser excessively closed.
5
Nozzle worn out or dirty.
1
Thermostats (boiler or room) or
pressure switches are open.
2
Photoresistant-cell in short circuit.
3
Absence of line voltage, main
switch open, meter switch tripped
or absence of line voltage.
4
Thermostat line not wired according
to diagram or open thermostats.
5
Equipment internal fault.
REMEDY
1
Clean or replace.
2
Check all the smoke ducts in the
boiler and in the chimney.

6
Clean and if necessary replace
them.
1
Adjust.
2
Drain water from the tank using
a suitable pump. Never use the
burner pump for this purpose.
3
Reduce combustion air.
4
Correct the position of the
combustion head adjusting device.
5
Clean or replace.
1
Raise the thermostats settings,
or wait that the contacts close for
natural decrease of temperature or
pressure.
2
Replace it.
3
Activate switches or wait for power
to return.
4
Check the connections and
thermostats.
5
Replace it.
