Loosen fixing screw and put the air regulation gate in the correct position for the quantity of fuel to be burned.
Use the general switch to switch on and ignite the burner.
If necessary, adjust combustion air supply by operating the aspiration gate.
The flame should be light orange.
The burner is equipped with a flame disc regulation screw.
This device makes optimum combustion possible by reducing or increasing air flow between disk and blast
tube.   For operation on low fuel supply it is usually necessary to reduce air flow between disc and blast tube
(turn the screw anti-clockwise).  Air flow must instead be proportionally increased (turn the screw clockwise)
when the burner operates at higher fuel supply.
After flame disc position has been adjusted, it is usually necessary to correct the position of the air regulation
gates.   Afterwards, check that ignition occurs correctly.

N.B. To make sure that combustion air is sufficient in relation to the quantity of fuel to be burnt;  it is essential to

check combustion. “Smoke” analysis instruments are used for this purpose.
Readings are taken of carbon dioxide (CO

2

) percentage and smoke intensity (Bacharach scale).

Obviously, “smoke” samples for analysis are taken from the pipe fitting that connects the boiler to the
chimney.   Carbon dioxide (CO

2

) level must be within the range of 10% (minimum) and 13% (optimum) with

smoke intensity not exceeding 2 on the Bacharach scale.
Note that any cracks, however small, in the connecting pipe between boiler and chimney can cause enough
air to infiltrate to considerably falsify readings of carbon dioxide (CO

2

). It is therefore essential to check

that this connection does not allow air to infiltrate.

SAFETY CHECKS

Check the following:
1)

Burner stoppage by opening the thermostats.

2)

“Blocking” by shading the photoconductive cell.

To unblock push the appropriate button.

MAINTENANCE

At the end of the heating season, it is usually advisable to clean the filter, blast tube (disc, insulators,
electrodes, nozzles), combustion air passage and photoconductive cell.
To clean nozzle passages, use soft material (e.g. wood, plastic). Replacement of nozzles every 12 months of
operation is recommended.

USE OF THE BURNER

The burner operates fully automatically, therefore it is non necessary to carry out any kind at adjustment
during its operation.   The “block” position is a safety position reached by the burner automatically when
some of the components of the burners or the plant do not work properly.
It is necessary to check then whether the cause to the problem is a  dangerous one before unblocking the
burner.  The causes to the block may be temporary, for example when air inside the pipes.
When it is unblocked, the burner starts operating properly.
If the burner stops three or four times at a stretch, it is necessary, either to look for the problem and solve it
or ask for the intervention of the after sales service. The burner can remain in the “block” position without any
limit in time. In emergency cases it is advisable and to close the fuel valve, to disconnect the burner
