ENGLISH
The burner does not start
• Thermostats (boiler or room) or pressure switches
are open
• Photocell in short-circuit
• Lack of voltage due to the main switch being open
or meter maximum switch tripped or lack of voltage
in the mains
• The thermostat line has not been
• installed according to the diagram, or a thermostat
is open
• Equipment internal fault
• Raise the settings, or wait until pressure or
temperature values naturally decrease to
close them
• Replace it
• Activate switches or wait for power to return
• Check connections and thermostats
• Replace it
Defective flame with sparks. • Atomisation pressure too low
• Too much combustion air
• Inefficient nozzle, either fouled or worn
• Water in the fuel
• Restore it at the required rating
• Reduce combustion air flow
• Clean or replace
• Drain it from the tank using a suitable pump.
(Never use the burner pump for this purpose)
Flame not properly shaped
with presence of smoke and
soot
• Insufficient combustion air flow
• Inefficient nozzle, either fouled or worn
• C o m b u s t i o n c h a m b e r u n s u i t a b l y
designed or too small
• Nozzle with inadequate flow with respect to the
combustion chamber size
• Unsuitable or excessive refractory lining
• Boiler or chimney ducts clogged
• Atomisation pressure too low
• Increase combustion air
• Clean or replace
• Modify or reduce the nozzle capacity with
respect to the combustion chamber or
replace the boiler
• Increase nozzle flow rate by replacing it
• Modify it according to the boiler
manufacturer’s instructions
• Arrange for cleaning.
• Restore it at the required value
Defective flame (flickering or
protruding from combustion
head)
• Excessive draught (only when there is an extractor
in the chimney)
• Inefficient nozzle, either fouled or worn
• Water in the fuel
• Disc fouled
• Excess of combustion air
• Air passage between disk and head too closed
• A d j u s t s p e e d o f a s p i r a t o r
by altering diameter of the pulleys
• Clean or replace
• Remove it from the tank using the adequate
pump (never use the burner pump for this
operation)
• Clean it
• Reduce combustion air
• Correct the position of the combustion head
regulating device
Corrosion inside the boiler.
• Boiler operating temperature too low (lower than
the dew point)
• High percentage of sulphur in the fuel
• Too low flue gas temperature (below 180 °C)
• Increase operating temperature
• Change the type of fuel
• Increase nozzle flow rate by replacing it
Soot at chimney outlet.
• Excessive cooling (below 180°C) of smoke before
exit outflow, for an outside chimney not adequately
heat insulated or cold air infiltration.
• Improve insulation and close any opening
letting cold air in.
