Startup and operation
6.1
Startup
DANGER
Uncontrolled system movement
When starting up, if the sensor is part of a closed loop
system whose parameters have not yet been set, the
system may perform uncontrolled movements. This
could result in personal injury and equipment damage.
►
Persons must keep away from the system’s
hazardous zones.
►
Startup must be performed only by trained technical
personnel.
►
Observe the safety instructions of the equipment or
system manufacturer.
1.
Check connections for tightness and correct polarity.
Replace damaged connections.
2.
Turn on the system.
3.
Check measured values and adjustable parameters
and readjust the sensor if necessary. Check spacing
over the entire measuring range.
Check for the correct values, especially after
replacing the sensor or after repair by the
manufacturer.
6.2
Calibration
– The switching point can be taught in either via IO-Link
or the DI (Data Input) teach input.
– By default, pin 2 is configured as a teach line.
– For more information on teach-in via IO-Link, see the
configuration instructions
6.2.1 Calibration via teach line (DI input)
1.
Move object into the desired switching range or bring
fill levels to approx. 50% coverage of the active area.
2.
Connect DI input to L+ until green LED goes out.
3.
Disconnect the connection to the DI input.
⇒
Switching point is stored after disconnection.
The teach-in process is completed when the green LED
lights up continuously.
If the display flashes in the T
each-in No Object
state (see Tab. 4-1), the teach-in process was
not completed successfully, e.g. because the
current measured value is outside the validity
range. The previous configuration will then
continue to be used.
With conductive media (e.g. water), container
adhesions can falsify the object detection.
In fill level applications, the sensor detects the
medium through the container wall (only suitable
for non-metallic containers).
6.3
Cleaning
To ensure proper functioning, keep the active area and any
empty spaces free of deposits and foreign bodies.
6.4
Maintenance
The operation of the device is maintenance-free.
