AC Power
Badger Meter provides an Emerson AC-to-DC power supply with cord (PN: 66528-003) that plugs into a standard
three-prong 120V AC outlet . If you are powering the gateway directly via DC power, see
"CDMA or LAN with DC Power Source"
on page 20
.

If you replace a gateway, make sure to replace the power supply cord with the Emerson power supply cord at the
same time .
Lightning Arrestors
Lightning arrestors are recommended for all standard and
remote antenna installations . If lightning arrestors are
used, they should be placed directly between the gateway
enclosure and the antenna cable connector and grounded
per code . One lightning arrestor is shown in
Figure 29
. Arrows
indicate where other lightning arrestors should be attached .
Lightning arrestors for both the TX/RX antennas as well
as the backhaul antenna (if applicable), should meet the
following specifications:
•
Operating bandwidth
- TX/RX antennas: 450 MHz…1 GHz
- Backhaul antenna: 824 MHz…1990 MHz
•
Impedance: 50 Ω
•
Power handling (average): 2W, minimum
•
Environmental/weather rating suitable for
the location
•

Arrows indicate where additional lightning arrestors should
be attached.
