1) U nlock the air cleaner cover and remove to access
the air cleaner.
2) R emove the paper element and precleaner.
3) R eplace or wash precleaner in warm water
with detergent. Rinse and allow to air dry.
4) L ightly oil precleaner with new engine oil; squeeze
out excess oil.
5) R eplace paper element and place precleaner onto
new paper element.
6) I nstall onto base and place cover back on and lock
into place.
3.4 Changing the spark plugs and checking the spark
plug gap:
3.3 Changing the air cleaner:
1)
In order to access the spark plugs you will need to
remove the rear engine cover. This can be
accomplished by removing the four carriage bolts
using a 7/16” ratcheting wrench.
2)
R emove the wire on the spark plug and use a 5/8”
socket to remove the spark plug.
3)
Check the gap on the spark plug to verify that it is
0.03 in using a feeler gauge.
4)
I f the spark plug is worn, overheated, wet or carbon
fouled replace the spark plug.
5)
Install the plug into Cylinder head and torque to 20
ft
-
lbs. Be careful not to overtighten the spark plug.
