Meaning
Stable level of calibration gas
was not detected within 50
seconds during calibration.
Calibration gas was

detected during calibration.
Gain increase since last
calibration was greater than
50%.
Zero offset point for sensor is
too low.
Failure to write calibration
value to EEPROM.
Instrument failed to zero the
combustibles sensor within
4 minutes.
Low-battery condition.
Pump not running at proper
speed.
Instrument not calibrated.
Error Messages
The following is a list of error messages that may appear when operating
the Gas Pup. Note that numerical messages appear just prior to the
instrument turning itself off. Contact your nearest Bacharach Service
Center for assistance if the suggested remedies do not restore the instru-
ment to normal operation.
Remedies
Ensure that a sufficient
amount of calibration gas
is being applied.
Apply calibration gas
when required.
Replace combustibles
sensor.
Replace combustibles
sensor.
Return instrument to
Bacharach for repair.
Replace sensor.
Replace batteries.
Blocked or insufficient
gas flow through instru-
ment due to a pinched
hose or clogged inlet filter
(see Fig. 23). Instrument
may be too cold.
Calibrate instrument.
