4.7. Transporting the scooter
The scooter‘s modular design enables you to transport it, even in
vehicles with relatively little stowage space.
RISK OF ENTRAPMENT! Ensure that you are aware
of the increased risk of entrapment when stowing
your scooter.
•
First of all, switch the scooter off.
•
Depending on the available space, it is sufficient to fold down the
back rest and steering column and secure the scooter using safety
belts on the frame.
•
To save space, you can dismantle the scooter in just a few easy
steps, by removing the drive unit, the batteries and the seat, and
stow them separately.
•
In the process, carefully protect all the individual parts against
slippage using safety straps.
•
The scooter, including the batteries, is generally suitable for
transportation in an aircraft. You can find out the conditions for
transportation from your airline. The batteries may need to be
removed. You can find information about this subject in section 6.3.
You can determine whether or not your scooter is approved for use as
a seat in a vehicle for transporting disabled people by referring to the
symbols on the CE sticker on the product:
•
Scooter suitable for use as a seat in a vehicle for
transporting disabled people (see fig. A)
•
Scooter not suitable for use as a seat in a vehicle for
transporting disabled people (see fig. B)
