2.9.2. JP2: Keyboard Power
Type: 3 pin
Default: Pin 1 and Pin 2 Short
Some keyboards may not follow standard specifications. If you find you are having prob-
lems with your keyboard, change the settings on JP 2. This might help you to solve the
problem.
2.9.3. JP6: CPU Clock
Type: 2 pin
Default: Open
This allows you to select the speed of your CPU. If you are using a 200 MHz CPU (with a
100 MHz FSB) on your mainboard then you need to SHORT JP 6. If you are using a 266
MHz CPU (with a 133 MHz FSB) you need to OPEN JP6.
2.9.4. JP8: Clear CMOS Memory
Type: 3 pin
Default: Pin 1 and Pin 2 Short
If you have made an improper setting in the BIOS setup and your computer is not func-
tioning, or if you have forgotten your password, you can use this jumper, JP 8, to clear
the CMOS memory and to reconfigure your system.
To clear the CMOS, please follow these instructions:
1.
Turn the system power “OFF” and unplug your computer.
2.
Insert the jumper cap on Pin 2 and Pin 3 for 3 ~ 5 seconds.
3.
Pull out the jumper cap and replace it on Pin 1 and Pin 2.
5. Turn your PC on and run the BIOS setup program
These mainboards are all fitted with a single switch, SW1. On this switch there are five
toggle switches that you can select as OFF or ON. The default has all the toggle switches
set to OFF. If you toggle any of these switches to ON, you will alter the processing speed
of your CPU. The increase in the processing speed is a multiple of the original processing
speed. The table on page 25 shows the different combinations of the toggle switches and
the multiple increase in the processing speed.
