Chapter 1 — Setting up Your Modem
1.5 Connecting the Modem
† MDP7800SP-U comes with Mic & Line Out Jacks

Connect a telephone set to the fax/modem card.

Connect one end of the telephone extension cord to the fax/modem
card and the other end to the telephone wall socket.

Connect a microphone to the modem card (MDP7800SP-U only).

Connect a pair of active/amplified speakers to the modem card.
Alternatively, if you have a sound card in your computer, you can
“line-in” to your sound card using an audio cable (MDP7800SP-U
only).
This completes the setting up of your modem. Please proceed to the next
chapter for information on installing the modem drivers in Windows
