5.4. PPPoE

5.4.1. PPPoE
There are three ways to obtain a WAN IP address: by manually entering a static IP address, by
configuring the gateway device in DHCP mode, or by configuring the gateway device in PPPoE
mode.
Depending on the type of Internet connection available to you, you may select one of these three
modes accordingly. For example, if a high-speed xDSL connection to the Internet is made
available to you by your phone company or Internet Service Provider (ISP), you may select the
PPPoE
as the access method to get a WAN IP address for your VOIP gateway device. On the
PPPoE configuration screen shown below, you need to enter the
User name
and
Password
provided by your ISP.

Input the password furnished by the ISP. (Maximum 32 characters)
Note
All user-input parameters in this menu support up to 32 characters.
