Lower the door
Locate the tensioning bar and insert it into the hole in the
tension assembly, see fig 22-23. Pull the bar back to release
the tension and remove the abrasive belt, see fig 24.
With the belt removed clean the belt sander using a ‘M’ class
vacuum cleaner. Inspect the new belt, ensure that there are
no tears or rips especially along the edges, check the direction
arrows on the inner surface of the belt and fit it over the two
pulleys. Position the belt so it sits in the middle of the pulleys
and re-tension the belt by pushing the bar forward, see fig 24.
Remove the tensioning bar and close all the guard doors.
Switch the machine on and wait until it’s at full speed. Move the
selector switch to select the oscillating belt (O), see fig 25. Check
the belt is tracking in the centre of the pulleys. If not loosen the
tracking control locking wheel (a) and turn the tracking wheel
(b) clockwise or anti-clockwise until the belt is tracking in the
centre. Tighten the locking wheel against the steel plate to
secure the setting, see fig 26.
Once completed switch off the machine by pressing the ‘RED’
button and wait until the sander comes to a complete stop.
