Appendix C: Protocol Support Upgrades
Axis NPS 530/532 User’s Manual

Upgrade using TCP/IP
Even if the TCP/IP protocol is disabled, the NPS 530/532 has a limited
FTP file transfer support to allow upgrading from a UNIX workstation.
Follow these steps to upgrade using FTP file transfer:
1. Create a file named upgrade containing the following lines:
(the software key values are examples only)
If you are upgrading for one protocol only, then omit the inappropri-
ate line.
2. Do a basic TCP/IP configuration as described in Section 6, and use
the arp method to set the Internet address.
3. Log in to the NPS 530/532. Command:
ftp <host name>
Enter root as user id and pass as password.
4. Down-load the upgrade file. Command:
put upgrade CONFIG
Notes:
• The protocol enable parameters
TCP_ENB
and
ATLK_ENB
will
automatically be set to YES when correct keys have been provided.
You can change these parameters later if you want to disable one or
both protocols.
• If you enter an incorrect key the parameter will remain empty.
• In order to prevent accidental loss of upgrade keys, it is not possible to
edit the key parameters further once the correct key has been entered.
