Electrical

Control Panel

Above navigation table.

Batteries

Two batteries: Start and House. Start battery is a group 27 AGM located under

the starboard settee cushion, near the forward bulkhead. The Start battery is

electrically isolated from the House battery and will not draw down under loads

of lights, refrigerator, etc. The House battery is an 8D AGM located under the aft

settee cushion near the centerline. The House battery powers all boat systems.

Battery Switches

Battery switch located on electrical control panel. Turn battery switch to “ON” to

start engine and for lights, refrigeration, etc. Turn to “OFF” at end of charter. Use

the combine switch position only in the event the Start battery has discharged and

engine will not turn over, this links the House battery to the Start battery.

NOTE: Never Turn Any Battery Switch Off While Engine Is Running!

Battery

Charging

There are 2 methods for charging the batteries on board.

Shore Power:

1.  Plug in Shore Power cord at the receptacle on the port aft side of the cockpit

and the AC breaker switch is “ON” at the Dock Box.

2.  Switch ON the AC “Master Breaker” located on electrical control panel.
3.  Push ON the “Battery Charger” breaker button (if not already on) it will show all

black when on, black & white when off.

NOTE: It is not necessary for battery switches to be “ON” for batteries to charge by

this method. The Start batteries are charged simultaneously.

At the End of Charter, Please Leave Battery Switch “OFF.”

Charging Batteries with Engine:

1.  Turn battery switch to “ON”.
2.  Start the engine and run until it has warmed up.
3.  Adjust the “Throttle” lever until the tachometer is between 1500 and 1800 rpm.
The Start and House batteries are charged simultaneously. After batteries are

charged and engine turned off the Start battery is automatically isolated. Leave

battery switch in the “ON” position.

NOTES:
•  Batteries require 2 to 4 hours to recharge when charge levels are low.
•  Monitor battery levels frequently (See: “Monitoring Batteries”).

Monitoring

Batteries

With battery switch “ON” press “Volt Read” switch located on electrical control

panel.

NOTES:
•  Monitor battery levels frequently when using 12 volt services! Charge when

voltage reads 12.2.

•  Never turn any battery switch off while engine is running!
•  After charter, plug in shore power and leave battery switch on “OFF” and battery

charger “ON” (see above).
