NOTICE!
Switches
S1 to S4
may only be switched in a voltage-free state!
O
Move sliding switches

S4
on the bottom of the product to the center
of the board (factory setting) to use 16 outputs.
If you want to use 8 outputs:
O
Move sliding switches
S1
to
S4
on the bottom of the product to the edge
of the board to use 8 outputs.

NOTICE
Assembling the bus coupler while under voltage can destroy the electronic components of
the valve system!
Large differences in potential occur when plugging the bus coupler into the valve system or
unplugging it under voltage, which can destroy the valve system.
O
Make sure that the relevant system part is not under voltage before you assemble the bus
coupler on the valve system.
Defective or improperly positioned seal!
Water may enter the device. The protection class IP65 is no longer guaranteed.
O
Make sure that the seal between the bus coupler and the valve system is intact and
properly positioned.
Valves cannot be controlled!
If valves with two coils are assembled on valve positions that are not designed
for two coils, the valves cannot be actuated.
O
When assembling the components, always observe the technical requirements of the
valve system used.
O
Always assemble valves with two coils on the foremost valve positions.
Upon delivery, all switches are in the 16 OUT setting.

is illuminated in green.
Connecting the sensors
NOTICE!
The sensors are in a energized short-circuit-resistant manner via the bus coupler. The inputs
and the sensor supply are galvanically connected to the AS bus line.
External supply is not permitted!
O
Do not connect an external supply!
O
Do not connect an external ground!
O
Only operate the sensors via the M12 plug connections energized
via the bus coupler!
O
Connect the two-wire and three-wire sensors to M12 sockets

.
Connecting the AS bus line
O
Connect the AS bus line to the
X7A
socket with the yellow AS-i cable.
The bus coupler is connected with the AS bus line.
Connecting the valve system
O
Connect the valve system to the
X2O
25-pin D-Sub connection to connect
the valves to the AS bus line.
The pin assignment for X2O and assignment to the valve position depends
on whether the variant with 8 outputs or 16 outputs is used.
NOTICE
Incorrect power pack!
To ensure SELV/PELV circuits in accordance with IEC 60364-4-41:
O
Connect a power pack with safe isolation according to EN 60742 (VDE 0551)
to
X1S
.
