Upgrading an existing S8300B or S8300C to R4.0 using the Upgrade Tool
258 Installing and Upgrading the Avaya G700 Media Gateway and Avaya S8300 Media Server
10. Complete the following fields:

enter a challenge key or password
●
re-enter challenge key or password
●
force password/key change on first login

Do not lock the account or set the password to be disabled.
11. Leave the defaults in the remaining fields.
12. Click Add .
The system tells the login is added successfully.
13. If you are upgrading an LSP such that you created this super-user login on the primary
controller, do the following also on the primary controller.
a. Log in with
telnet
or
ssh
.
b. At the Linux command line, type
filesync -a <IP_address_of_LSP>
, where
<IP_address_of_LSP>
is the IP address of the LSP you are upgrading.
On-site Preparation for the Upgrade
Perform the following tasks before starting the software upgrade on the S8300:

Setting up a TFTP server or HTTP server for LSP software download, if desired on

Accessing the S8300 on page 260
●
Removing the administration for the IA770 integration if CWY1 board is used on page 260
●
Completing pre-upgrade tasks — If the target S8300 is the primary controller on page 261

Saving a copy of the 4600-series phone configuration file, if any on page 264
●
Getting IA770 (AUDIX) Data and Stopping IA770 (if IA770 is being used) on page 265
●
Backing up S8300 recovery system files on page 269
●
Copying the service pack files to the media server (starting from R2.x only) on page 272
●
Installing the pre-upgrade software service pack (starting from R2.x only) on page 272
●
Copying Files to the S8300 hard drive on page 273
●
Copying authentication files to the LSPs on page 275
