Connection of two PBX systems via one analog Port each
Which Advantages do the Connection with the Auerswald Box have?
The Auerswald Box may be used to connect two PBX systems (e.g. of two houses, two companies) with
a limited distance in such a manner that free internal calls between these two PBX systems are possible.
Which Requirements have to be fulfilled?
- Two PBX systems with one free internal analog port each
Connection and Start of Operation of the Auerswald Box
Connect the Auerswald Box to the other devices as shown in the picture.
Configure an internal telephone number (e.g. 34) in the PBX for the analog port of the Auerswald Box
labeled with „PBX/Tk-Anlage“ – if this has not been done yet. You need this telephone number to call
the Auerswald Box for configuration settings or to make calls.
Configure an internal telephone number (e.g. 33) in the PBX for the analog port of the Auerswald Box
labeled with „ATA“ – if this has not been done yet. You need this telephone number to call the Auerswald
Box to make calls.
On both extensions do not configure any external telephone number (external call distribution).
For the connection of two PBX systems no settings are necessary in the Auerswald Box. If the Auerswald
Box does not contain the default factory settings concerning call acception (immediate) and destination
number (empty), you can reset it as described in the chapter “Reset to Default Factory Settings” on
page11.

The range of Auerswald Box and PBX may be up to 600 m depending on the type of PBX and the cable
used.
The Auerswald Box has not been certified as an analog public exchange line port for PBX systems.
Start Calls to the other PBX via Auerswald Box
To start a call the Auerswald Box is called by one internal telephone of the PBX via the corresponding
internal telephone number. As soon as the Auerswald Box establishes the connection to the other PBX
(dial tone), the requested internal telephone number of this PBX can be dialed by DTMF.
