Which requirements are necessary for the Internet Telephony with the Auerswald Box?
- ISDN or analog PBX with one free internal analog port
- DSL connection with a DSL modem or DSL router (a DSL Router is not absolutely necessary, but it
enables parallel surfing and telephoning via the Internet)
- SIP

contract with a SIP provider (e.g. www.sipgate.de, www.freenet.de, www.1und1.de)
- ATA

(e.g. Grandstream HandyTone 486, AVM Fritz!Box Fon)
Connection and Operation of the Auerswald Box for Internet Telephony
Connect the Auerswald Box to the other devices as shown in the picture.
Configure an internal telephone number (e.g. 34) for the analog port of the Auerswald Box in the PBX –
if this has not been done yet. You need this telephone number to call the Auerswald Box for outgoing
calls or configuration settings.
Do not configure any external telephone number (external call distribution) for the Auerswald Box.

During the installation please pay attention to the corresponding manuals of the other devices as well as
the information from your network provider or SIP provider.
Outgoing Internet Calls with the Auerswald Box
To start a call via the Internet, the Auerswald Box can be called by each internal subscriber of the PBX.
As soon as the Auerswald Box establishes the connection to the ATA (dial tone), the telephone number
to be dialed in the Internet can be entered by DTMF.
Incoming Internet Calls with the Auerswald Box
There are different operation modes A-D for receiving incoming calls from the Internet. Per default the
operation mode C is set.
