Internal room monitoring (baby phone)
With room monitoring, you can listen in to another room using a second mobile unit. A
second mobile unit is always required for this purpose. You will find further information
on using additional mobile units in Chapter 11.
Switching on the baby phone on the mobile unit
Press
the
MENU
display button, select
EXTRAS
with the cursor and confirm with
the
OK
display button.
Select
the
BABY MONITOR
setting and press the
OK
display button.
Choose
the
ON
setting and confirm with the
OK
display button. The internal room
monitoring is now activated. An appropriate message will appear in the display.
Now place the mobile unit in the room that you want to monitor. In order to listen in to
the room, dial the internal number of the mobile unit. The call will be accepted directly
without ringing and you will be able to listen in to the room. To cancel room monitoring,
terminate the call with the
button. You can listen in to the room again at any
time by dialling the internal number of the mobile unit.
Switching off the baby phone on the mobile unit
You can switch off the
BABY PHONE
function with the
CANCEL
display button and
then
OK
.
6.3 Walkie-talkie
When you use several Type DECT6500 handsets, you can use the mobile units as
walkie-talkies. In the walkie-talkie mode, the mobile units are logged off from the base
station. You can therefore be as far away from the base station as you like. It is not
possible to receive external calls during this time. In order to use this function, several
mobile units must be switched to the walkie-talkie function. The range between two
mobile units is up to 50 m indoors and up to 300 m outdoors.
Preparing the mobile units
In order to use this function, you must switch each mobile unit individually to the
WALKIE-TALKIE function.
Press
the
MENU
display button, select
EXTRAS
with the cursor and confirm with
the
OK
display button.
Select
the
WALKIE-TALKIE
setting and press the
OK
display button.
Now select the number that the mobile unit is to be allocated during the WALKIE-
TALKIE function and confirm with
OK
. Repeat the procedure for the required
mobile units. The display buttons are now allocated the functions
TALK
and
CANCEL
