If you hear the system unit fan spinning, but nothing appears on the screen, check
that the monitor:
• Is connected to a functioning AC power source.
• Is attached to the appropriate connector on the back of the system unit.
• Is turned on.
• Has its brightness control set at a reasonable level. If this control is set too low,
it can cause the monitor screen to appear black.
Shutting Down Your Computer
When you finish using your computer, use the following procedure within the
Microsoft® Windows® operating system to shut down your computer.
1.
Click the Start button in the Microsoft® Windows® taskbar.
2.
Click Shut Down... option.
3.
When the Shut Down Windows dialog box appears, click the Shut down the
computer? option to select it.
4.
Then click the OK button to shut down your computer. (Click the Cancel
button to keep the system turned on.)
5.
When you see a message on the screen indicating that it is safe to turn off your
computer, press the
POWER button on the front panel of the system unit to
complete the shutdown process.
For additional information, refer to the Microsoft® Windows® manuals supplied
with your computer. After you shut down your computer, turn off the monitor and
all peripheral devices connected to your computer, such as the printer and
speakers.
