1.1 Physical components
The ATTO iPBridge 2600 is a 1-Gigabit Ethernet to SCSI 1U full-rack bridge for high performance, cost
effective solutions in enterprise environments.

Battery-backed event log:
A rechargeable
Lithium ion battery cell holds the event log
memory for up to 30 days. If the iPBridge has
been disconnected from power, recharging begins
automatically when power is restored. The battery
is fully charged after 36 hours.
WARNING
Risk of explosion if battery is removed
and/or replaced by an incorrect type.
Dispose of used batteries in accordance
with your local environmental regulations.
SCSI ports
The two independent SCSI ports are Ultra 320
busses with 68-pin VHDCI connectors,
downward compatible with all forms of low
voltage differential and single-ended SCSI.
Ethernet data ports
The four independent 100/1000 Ethernet RJ-45
data ports are labeled Ethernet ports 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Ethernet cables must be at least CAT-5E certified.
Management ports
A 100 Mb/sec. Ethernet standard RJ-45
management port and an RS-232 serial port
provide support for remote monitoring and
management. The serial port is set at the factory at
115,200 bps.
Reset/restore factory default switch
To reset the iPBridge, briefly insert a tool in the
hole in the back panel for less than three seconds.
See Exhibit 1.1-1.
To restore factory defaults, insert the tool in the
hole in the back panel for more than four seconds
until the green Ready LED blinks.
LEDs
From the front of the iPBridge
Bicolor Ready/Fault:
off means not ready; green
on shows ready, and yellow on means fault.
Power:
indicates power has been applied.
Ethernet 100/1000:
off indicates 100 Mb/sec.
speed; yellow shows 1000 Mb/sec. speed.
Ethernet Activity:
lights green to represent an
active link, blinks to show activity and goes dark
when no link is present.
SCSI Activity:
lights green to show activity; off
shows no activity

Bicolor Ready/Fault:
off means not ready; green
on indicates ready, and yellow on shows fault
Ethernet port link:
green on means an active link;
off shows no link.
Ethernet port activity:
Blinking yellow indicates
management activity.
Ethernet speed:
green on indicates 100 Mb/sec.
speed; yellow on indicates 1000 Mb/sec. speed.
Ethernet activity:
Solid on represents a link is
present; blinking indicates activity, and off shows
no link is present
SCSI Activity:
on indicates activity; off shows no
activity.
