WEIGHT AND BALANCE DEFINITION

BASIC WEIGHT
:
Aircraft weight including the furnishing
fixed equipment.

DRY OPERATING WEIGHT
:
Basic weight plus crew. Operational items
(DOW)
(such as ballast fuel, stretcher …, if applied).

DEADLOAD
:
Gross weight of the cargo, mail, baggage
and empty ULDs.

OPERATING WEIGHT
:
Dry operating weight plus take off fuel.

PAYLOAD
:
Weight of the cargo, mail and ULDs (these
may be revenue and/or nonrevenue).

ZERO FUEL WEIGHT (ZFW)
:
Dry operating weight plus payload.

TAKE OFF WEIGHT
:
Zero fuel weight plus take off fuel.
