STARTING THE GENERATOR
To prevent electrical shock, the generator
should be properly grounded before starting
and prior to connecting any appliances.
Connect a length of heavy wire or cable
between the ground source and the ground
terminal on the front control panel.
1. Connect the positive terminal cable (red)
to the positive terminal on the battery.
Repeat procedure for the negative cable
(black) and negative terminal. Ensure the
connections are fastened securely.
2. Ensure that no appliances are connected to
the generator prior to starting the engine.
3. Switch OFF the Master Circuit Breaker.
4. Turn the fuel tap to the ON position
(vertical).
5. If the engine is cold pill out the choke lever.
6. Insert ignition key and turn clockwise to the
start position, release when engine starts.
7. After the engine has warmed up, push the
Choke Lever to the run position.
Do not use the choke if the engine is warm. Do
not reverse the polarity of the terminals when
charging a battery as serious damage to the
battery may result.
USING THE GENERATOR
1. Turn off the desired appliance prior to
connecting to the generator.
2. Ensure that the master circuit breaker is
switched OFF.
3. Start the generator.
4. Connect appliances by lifting the clear front
cover of the AC sockets.
5. Turn the Master Circuit breaker to the ON
position. The red indicator light on the RCD/
MCB housing panel will now illuminate.
6. Lift up the clear front cover on the panel
and push the switch up on the RCD/MCB to
the ON position. The ON position is shown
as a red indicator box above the switch.
Power is now supplied to the AC socket and
the appliance can be used.
Note: It is recommended to test the operation
of each RCD/MCB daily.
TEST PROCEDURE
1. To test the RCD/MCB, start the generator
and switch ON the master circuit breaker.
2. Push the switch up on the RCD/MCB to the
ON position.
3. The ON position is shown as a red indicator
box above the switch.
4. Press the ‘test’ button (T) on the RCD/
MCB. If the device is operating correctly,
the switch will automatically ‘trip’ to the
OFF position. The OFF position is shown as a
green indicator box above the switch.
In case of emergency, the generator can be
quickly turned off using the Key Ignition on
the left side of the panel.
MAINTAINING OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE
• Properly ground the generator prior
to starting.
• Do not overload the generator by connecting
multiple heavy-load appliances. The combined
load of all appliances should not exceed the
rated running output power of the generator.
• Do not use power bars or outlet splitters.
STOPPING THE GENERATOR
1. Turn off all connected appliances
(do not unplug).
2. Allow the generator to run for up to two
minutes to cool down.
3. Turn the ignition key to the off position.
4. Unplug the appliances.
5. Turn the Fuel Tap to the OFF position
(horizontal).
