To enter pairing mode, the Headset must have first been set to EQ-Link mode.

The paring mode voice menu will then become available to enable pairing.

NOTE:

The VHF communications LEVEL  is like MIC Gain on standard headsets and
can  be  programmed from  the  Pilot  or  EQ-Link  Headset ONLY  to the  Base  or
EQ-Link  Controller,  the  Headset  must  be  linked  at  this  time  to  perform  the
operation.
