•
Do not operate the aerial work platform when wind conditions exceed 12.5 m/s (45 km/h).
•
Do not transport panels or large elements when the machine is used outdoors: such items
increase the machine's exposed wind area and reduce its stability.
•
Do not pull or push an element on the outside of the aerial work platform. Allowable manual
force (total): 400 N
•
Never attempt to use the machine as a crane.
•
Never use the machine to pull or push any object.
•
Do not tie-off the machine to any adjacent structure. Never attach wire, cable or similar items
to the platform.
2.3. CRUSHING
AND
COLLISION
HAZARDS
•
Keep all parts of the body inside the platform
guardrails while the platform is moving.
•
Prevent any obstacles from hitting or interfering with
operating controls or platform occupants.
•
Exercise care so as not to lower the platform onto an
obstruction, particularly when the deck extensions are
deployed. It is recommended that the deck extensions
be fully retracted before lowering the platform.
•
Warn
the
other
platform
occupants
before
commanding a movement and possibly obtain their
agreement.
•
Keep non-operating personnel away from the
machine's operating area. Warn ground personnel not
to stand or walk under the platform while it is
elevated.
•
Ensure that operators of other machines at height and
on the ground are aware of the aerial work platform
presence. Position barricade on floor, if necessary,
and disconnect the power of the overhead cranes.
•
Check work area for obstructions around, above and
below the platform before operating the platform.
•
Limit the operating speed according to the condition of the ground, inclination, visibility, the
presence of personnel in the work area, obstructions in the path of the machine and all other
factors likely to result in a collision or injury.
•
Post a lookout on the ground for guidance when vision is obstructed.
•
Take braking or stopping distances into account based on the travelling or operating speed.
Reduce the travelling speed when moving along sloped ground (Platform in stowed position).
•
Do not unhook the platform control station in order to control or operate the machine from
ground level. When operating the machine, the control station must be securely fastened to
the platform guardrail.
